Winter self-care ideas

Winter is definitely the time of year where self- care is very important. A lot of the time people have mood changes and their routines change because of the bad weather and temperature change. It is very important to take care of yourself during this time. Being cooped up inside can be very boring and can cause some people to go stir crazy. If you aren't into winter outdoor activities then you need to do something else to make this winter season pass by. Here are some winter self-care rituals you can practice to keep you feeling energized and refreshed.

Yoga

@morgaanzo

Winter is the perfect time to practice a favorite or new hobby! Yoga, especially hot yoga is the best during the winter, especially when it is freezing outside! Find the nearest yoga studio or buy a yoga mat and do it at home! It will really relax you, and it is also great for those people who get some seasonal anxiety or depression!

Lighting Candles

The only good thing about it getting dark outside earlier, is that I get to light my candles earlier. Lighting candles really relaxes me and seasonal scents really get me into the winter and holiday spirit. I get my candles from Yankee Candle, Michaels, Bath and Body Works and even the dollar general has some good organic candles that I've gotten a couple times!

Journaling or blogging

Honestly, blogging and journaling has been so stress relieving for me this winter. Winter is a great time to start something like this, because if you're not into winter sports then you will most likely spend most of your time inside, and trust me.. you will need something to do. Journaling is as easy as writing down your goals, or what you're thankful for.

Treating yourself with wellness visits

Winter is a time to relax! Treat yourself with a spa day with a sauna or hot tub and a nice massage or even a manicure or pedicure! You can even bring some wellness tricks into your home and invest in some essentials oils or massage rollers.

Spend time outside

Even though it is cold outside, it is very important to give yourself some fresh air. Going for a walk, making a snow man or even choosing to go to the outlets to do your christmas shopping. If you live in an area that gets snow, the only way to get used to it is to try to like it !!
